Blue Film

Anthony D'Souza co-wrote and directed the 2009 Indian action-adventure movie Blue, which was also produced by Dhilin Mehta under the banner of Shree Astavinayak Cine Vision Limited. Rahul Dev, Zayed Khan, Lara Dutta, Sanjay Dutt, and Akshay Kumar are among the cast members. Kabir Bedi and Katrina Kaif make brief cameos. On October 16, 2009, Blue was launched during the Diwali season to mixed reviews from critics.

With a production budget of more than $21 million at the time of release, it was the most costly Hindi-language movie up to that point. Blue, which was loosely modeled on the Hollywood movies Into the Blue (2005, 2009) and Into the Blue 2: The Reef (2009, 2010), was unable to recoup its high production costs at the box office.

Storyline

A legendary ship named Lady in Blue sinks in a storm in the opening scene, and the captain later reappears alone on the land.

In the Bahamas, Aarav is the owner of the highly profitable fishing business Blue Fisheries. For Aarav's business, Sagar is a diver. Sagar intends to wed Mona, his sweetheart. Sam, the younger brother of Sagar, is introduced to Nikki, a female motorcyclist who actually works for the criminal organization Gulshan. Sam invites Nikki out to dinner after winning a bike race against Gulshan. Sam declines to work with Gulshan unless there is a significant financial incentive.

Sam is told by Nikki that the salary for the position is $50,000. Sam is hired by Gulshan, but Gulshan sets him up, costing Gulshan $50 million. Sam lacks the funds and doesn't believe Gulshan will track him down in the Bahamas. When Sam arrives at Aarav's firm, Sagar cheerfully greets him. Sam is met by Gulshan and pursued by his gang in the Bahamas, though. Sam is saved by Aarav.

Sam informs Aarav of what he did, and Aarav informs Sagar of the circumstance. Sam makes an effort to persuade Sagar to go for the treasure from the Lady in Blue. Sagar turns down. Sagar's house is bombed by Gulshan, who also kidnaps Mona and demands $50 million or Sam in exchange for her release. Sam decides that because they already killed Nikki, they must go and save Mona. They make the decision to uncover the treasure, settle the debt with Gulshan, and utilize the remaining funds to live happily. Sagar continues to be wary, and it is revealed that he has a shocking and troubled past with the Lady in Blue. Years ago, in order to save his own life, Sagar was forced to leave his archaeologist father, Aadesh Singh, on the ship. Sagar ultimately consents to assist.

When the three of them raise the loot, they discover Gulshan and his crew close to their ship. He says Gulshan was employed to carry out all of this by Aarav. After killing Gulshan, Aarav falls into the water, and the group is forced to leave him there. Sagar makes a promise to never return to Lady in Blue.

Aarav gives Sagar a call three months later. Aarav tells them that his grandpa was commander Jagat Malhotra, the treacherous commander of the ship Lady in Blue who committed suicide after being court-martialed and survived his fall into the ocean. He wanted to restore honor to his family name, so he set out to find the treasure. It is revealed that Nikki is still alive and that Nikita Malhotra, Aarav's wife, is her real identity. As the end credits roll, the movie closes with Aarav and Nikki holding hands on one of his boats.
