Captain Miller will be released soon by Arun Matheswaran. It is an action adventure movie in Tamil that will also be produced by Sendhil and Arjun Thyagarajan under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films. Along with Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken, and Edward Sonnenblick, it stars Dhanush in the main role.
The 2018 script was written by Matheswaran, and Sathya Jyothi Films was supposed to make it. But nothing was finalized until 2019, when it really began to take shape. Its working title was D47 (Dhanush's 47th movie with a leading part).
The movie was announced in July 2022, and main photography started in Chennai, Tirunelveli, and Tenkasi that September. G. V. Prakash Kumar wrote the soundtrack, Siddhartha Nuni was in charge of the cinematography, and Nagooran Ramachandran was in charge of the editing.
Release Date
Captain Miller is scheduled for a release on 15 December 2023.
About
In 2018, Matheswaran created a script that T. G. Thyagarajan's production company Sathya Jyothi Films intended to produce. Since he had prepared the script with the actor in mind, Matheswaran had also showed it to Dhanush. Nothing was finalized, though, and the idea began to take shape once more in 2019. Matheswaran and Dhanush met in late October 2020 to talk about the potential for working together on that project.
Dhanush expressed interest in what Matheswaran had presented after being moved by the script's narration. After he had completed his obligations for that period, the project was to start production. The movie, which would be Dhanush's 47th, was reportedly going to be made by Sathya Films in April 2021. Dhanush confirmed his collaboration with Matheswaran on December 24.

The movie's working title was D47, in honor of the actor's 47th appearance in a prominent role. Multiple sources stated that the movie was called Captain Miller and that it was going to take place in the 1930s in April 2022.
Matheswaran claimed that the movie was not based on the actual LTTE rebel Captain Miller in a media interview in late April. He went on to say that the movie will be an action adventure without any item songs and that it would be made on a huge budget to appeal to a broader audience.
Without having a performer in mind, Matheswaran began drafting the script. His goal was to make a big-budget action movie, so he made up the character of Captain Miller. He hadn't thought of Dhanush as the ideal candidate for that position until midway through the hiring process. The latter would wear three different outfits in the movie.
Sundeep Kishan was rumored to have a significant role in the film that September, while Priyanka Arul Mohan was in negotiations to play the lead actress as of late May 2022. The production house confirmed both of their inclusions on September 19 and 17, respectively.

Rama Udayasuriyan, a Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Keezhapavur union councillor, accused the film's production company of damaging the Chenkulam canal bank and erecting a wooden bridge across the body of water without the required permission during the end of March 2023. In response to the film's unauthorized actions, the councillor petitioned the district administration to initiate enforcement action.
The shooting crew is also said to have tented in the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve's buffer zone close to Mathalamparai hamlet and engaged in activities like utilizing high beam lights and igniting fires during night shooting, which had a negative influence on the local wildlife.
The Chenkulam canal, which transports water from the Old Coutrallam Falls to about 15 tanks, was inspected in preparation for the construction of a check dam, and it was found that the unit had damaged the canal bank and filled a section of the canal with earth.
The councilman claimed that when he got in touch with the unit's administrators, they claimed to know Chief Minister M. K. Stalin. The council member urged the public works and forest departments to take action against the unit.

According to sources, the crew had been camped out in the KMTR buffer zone since the end of January and had built a sizable set for large-scale filming on private property. A local farmer claimed that an elephant damaged numerous coconut trees on his property after becoming upset by the noise.
S. Senbagapriya, the Wildlife Warden for KMTR, responded to a request for comment by saying that she had no knowledge of the filming in the buffer zone and that the forest department had not given permission for the Mathalamparai shoot.
Sathya Jyothi Films executive officer Rajkumar asserted that the forest authority had granted clearance for the project and promised that the wooden bridge would be made available for public use following the filming. It wasn't clear, though, whether clearance was granted for the set that was situated in the buffer zone. Supriya Sahu, the additional chief secretary for the environment, climate change, and forests, said she will urge the senior chief conservator of forests to look into the situation.
Music
Following Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, Maaran, and Vaathi, this is G. V. Prakash Kumar's sixth film with Dhanush and his first with Matheswaran. Saregama purchased the music label.
