Merry Christmas is an upcoming Indian Tamil thriller movie directed by Sriram Raghavan. Under Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures, Ramesh Turani, Jaya Turani, Sanjay Routray, and Gewal Garg are the producers. In the movie, Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif make their Tamil film debuts. Tamil and Hindi were shot for the movie at the same time.

The movie and its title were both revealed in December 2021. In Mumbai, principal photography started that same month and ended in January 2023. Pritam is the composer of the soundtrack; Daniel B. George, Madhu Neelakandan, and Pooja Ladha Surti are in charge of the background score, cinematography, and editing, respectively. At first, it was believed that the movie would solely be produced in Hindi, however Raghavan disclosed in August 2023 that Tamil was also being used.

Merry Christmas is scheduled to release on 8 December 2023 in Hindi and Tamil language.

About

Early in January 2021, Sriram Raghavan, Katrina Kaif's next film, starring Vijay Sethupathi as the lead female, was signed. The movie was supposed to premiere in April, but it was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic's second wave and Katrina's positive COVID-19 test results. The movie's producers, Sanjay Routray and Ramesh Turani, were formally confirmed on December 25.

On December 25, 2021, primary photography got underway, with Mumbai serving as the initial location. Early in January 2022, the filming was halted due to an increase in COVID-19 instances. Early in February, filming resumed at Mumbai's Filmistan Studio. In March, Sanjay began recording his parts. On March 11, Katrina resumed filming her scenes. The initial timetable ended in March.

The second schedule got underway in a Chitrakoot studio on March 19. There was talk of a 45-day program. In April, Raadhika began filming her scenes. The program was shifted to a studio in Vrindavan in August due to a fire event that occurred in the district. In November, the second schedule was completed.

During the third phase of the schedule, which started in November in Mumbai, paparazzi posted images of Katrina, Sethupathi, and Kapoor from the sets on social media. A few more days later, still more photos were taken. With an official confirmation on Sethupathi's birthday in January 2023, the principal photography came to an end.

Since filming was scheduled to conclude in November 2022, Raghavan began post-production work in that month. In May 2023, Raghavan disclosed that the movie is a billingual film, which indicates that it was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Hindi. This is Raghavan and Kaif's first Tamil film together. There will apparently be a distinct group of co-actors in each version. The release date was revealed on July 17.
