Sam Bahadur (2023)

Sam Bahadur is an upcoming Indian Hindi biographical war drama movie based on the real life of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. Under RSVP Movies, Meghna Gulzar is the director and Ronnie Screwvala is the producer. Vicky Kaushal plays the lead role, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Edward Sonnenblick, Neeraj Kabi, and Zeeshan Ayyub co-star.

Vicky Kaushal plays the lead in the biopic Sam Bahadur, which is based on the life of the late Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, one of India's most distinguished army officers. Manekshaw, well known by his nickname Sam Bahadur, was a distinguished soldier who spent more than forty years in the Indian army.

He bravely participated in five wars: the Indo-Pak Partition War (1947), the Indo-Indian War (1962), the Indo-Pak War (1965), and the War of Bangladesh Liberation (1971). During his term, he was recognized for his valor in World War II and received several major medals, including the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. It is also known that he escaped death numerous times.

Following Raazi (2018), this movie is Gulzar and Kaushal's second joint venture. Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh joined the cast in December 2021. In September 2022, Neeraj Kabi was added to the cast to play Jawaharlal Nehru. In an interview with Film Companion, Kaushal stated that the character would be the most challenging part he has ever played on screen.

Ten Indian sites, including Jaipur, Kolkata, Punjab, Kashmir, and Delhi, were used for the film's filming. On December 1, 2022, the first teaser was revealed; on October 13, 2023, the RSVP production released the official teaser.
