“The Marvels” is a superhero film co-written and directed by Nia DaCosta. It's the 33rd entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and a sequel to Captain Marvel. The movie is part of the MCU's Phase Five and The Multiverse Saga.

“The Marvels” follows in the footsteps of the more cosmic MCU installments, like its direct predecessor and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. This means it's colorful, a little bit silly at times - and so much fun. 

Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) tasks Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) to investigate strange anomalies. When the anomalies turn out to be connected, they also draw in Carol Danvers' superfan Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), and into events which threaten not just Earth, but other planets as well ...

I was a bit worried and puzzled when the sequel's name was announced as “The Marvel’s” considering the naming convention had always been to use the main superhero's name, even for team up-movies like Captain America: Civil War or Thor: Ragnarok. I also feel like they robbed us of a proper sequel, in which Carol Danvers wouldn't have to share the spotlight.

 

Still, to have Carol team up with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan is, of course, very exciting, and the movie turned out to be the best entry in the MCU for quite some time and an improvement over its predecessor.

The three lady stars absolutely shine and their characters' wonderful dynamic is the movie's highlight. While Iman Vellani's charm is irresistable as always, Teyonah Parris is as great, just as her introduction in WandaVision promised, Brie Larson is, unsurprisingly, brillant, and it feels like she's settled even more comfortably into her role. 

There's also lots of Nick Fury, much more Goose, many surprises I won't spoil even a little bit for you, and some very thrilling, action-packed set pieces. And, luckily, the brought the whole Khan family in as well.

Even though it doesn't feel short, but very well paced, the movie's 105 minutes runtime makes me wish they'd added on or two more scenes to allow for a little bit more character interaction and depth, but this is more then made up for by all the good stuff.

Overall, The Marvels is a joyful, delightful, beautiful superhero movie, one of the most thoroughly entertaining in the MCU, a fast-paced, funny, vibrant, colorful cosmic adventure with three marvellous leading ladies, which is, above all, fun!

Marvel has stepped up their game, wow! Didn't expect much because of the first captain marvel movie, but I loved the combination of Monica, Kamala & Carol! These 3 are a great trio and the end was amazing! So cool how Monica ended up being sent into the X MEN UNIVERSE??? God I'm excited for the X-Men movie now. Really nice to see all these different characters, all of them working together harmoniously. Also the kitties were cute and I loved them. 

So excited for young avengers as well, Cassie, Kate, & Kamala! Love seeing Kamala become kind of a Nick Fury of sorts, gathering the team! Although that scene where she recruited Kate was a bit funny lol. Great movie all around, 10/10 would watch again. ALSO! Forgot to mention this, but I think Marvel did a great job not trying to make this movie too serious in parts. The past few movies got hate because of how they were too silly, but I thought often they TRIED to be serious and failed, and that was where Marvel messed up. 

They did it amazingly for this movie though, and Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris were great at the comedy. Not to mention Brie Larson, whom's acting is much better than the first movie and Avengers Endgame.
